Zachary S. Madden, 28, of Binghamton, New York, Dies Unexpectedly, Leaving Behind a Loving Family and Many Friends
Zachary S. Madden, a 28-year-old from Binghamton, New York, tragically passed away on October 9, 2025, at his home. His unexpected death has left his family, friends, and the community heartbroken.
Zachary was deeply loved by his family, including his parents Gerald and Suzanne Madden, his siblings Kevin, Nicole, and Ryan, as well as his grandmother Patricia Gaughran. He was known for his kind heart, his strong work ethic, and his love for technology and gaming.
Zachary worked as a Computer Hardware Technician for Broome County and was a proud graduate of SUNY Broome and Binghamton High School. His contributions to the community extended beyond his work, as he was a loyal supporter of the BFD Stair Climb and had a passion for craft beers and breweries.
Known in the gaming world as “TheIronMadden,” Zachary attended gaming conventions across the country and formed lasting friendships. His bond with his mother was particularly special, as he was always there for her when needed most.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church in Binghamton on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 11 a.m., with a private burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Johnson City. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
Zachary’s spirit, generosity, and passion will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
